I tried a cheaper reel craft reel, see my review titled "Reel Crap", I was very disappointed with the cheaper unit but this unit performs fairly well. It does the job of reeling the cord back up without to much difficulty. I do wish it had a little tighter spring but I can live with the way it works. I only use this in my personal garage on weekends so I'm happy with it. If I used this on a daily basis I would probably be looking to upgrade a level. The unit feels like a quality piece but time will tell.
