Update
S is home from the hospital and on the mend. Thank you for everyones kind words!! And he got home not a moment too soon on Thursday - Friday we had a blizzard. I have never seen it snow so much or so fast as it did Friday afternoon. I closed our office early and sent my staff home at 2.......and I didn't make it in the door until almost 8:30 that night. There were vehicles in the ditch everywhere, 80 km/hour winds and snow drifts that were taller than me!

Wow! What a snow event! It's barely December (laugh). Your photos are so cool.
ReplyDeleteI am really glad to hear that S is on the mend. Great news!
Oh my...what an incredible snow man you guys can make with all the gorgeous luscious snow Cathy!..grass really is greener on the other side...the snow fall we had yesterday was so lame in comparison and yet we were all excited about it... I am sooo glad to hear you guys are back to normal...and not a moment too soon either by the looks of it!
ReplyDeletePS : ... ~ giggles...at the 'Dave grilling in the snow' remark ..I actually had a mental picture : ) ...!
Wow, Cathy, looks like the North Pole! I bet you're used to snow, up there? Loved your funny note to Dave. lol Stay warm and have a great wek!
ReplyDeleteYikes! that's a lot of snow at one time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't live on the prairies anymore. When the snow gets to much for you both, you can come and visit us!
Wow...definitely a good time to stay in. Glad to hear S is home again.
ReplyDeleteOh noooooo...seriously...up to your neck! Wow. Even when I lived in Pennsylvania and in Michigan I never experienced snow like this.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send you some warmer weather, girl! In spite of being in Florida we have had very low temps, freezing temps, but nothing like the snow you have. Thnaks for posting the photos...it's amazing.
and when the power goes off, you'll need a live fire cook...
ReplyDeleteJust brush the snow off, and the drifts help block the wind...
Grill away!
Yuck! I hope you have a very early spring cause nobody deserves that much snow!
ReplyDeleteGlad S is better and home. Yikes, look at all that snow!! Luckily, we haven't had any here... yet.
ReplyDeleteVelva - I really hope it doesn't snow like this for the rest of the winter...I don't own snowshoes anymore ;)
ReplyDeleteNatalie - haven't made a snowman in yrs...maybe I will tonight (except it's -30...too friggin cold).
Marguerite - you never get used to that much snow...trust me.
Mom - really? You don't miss this? :-p
Future - yep, inside with coffee and bailey's..what else do you need?!
Pierce - really? I would've thought you'd get snow like that in Michigan.
Dave - hahaha...I did get the snow off the bbq - but -30 Celsius is too cold to stand outside bbq'ing
Dale - it's Calgary...no early spring ever.
Palidor - do you normally get a lot of snow?
It's sort of cyclical. When I was a little girl, we got quite a bit of snow. But during my late teenage years and early 20s, we didn't get much. Last year was bad. One day, we got over 50cm of snow in one dumping. Luckily, I was in Tokyo when that happened. :-)
ReplyDelete50 cm is way too much Palidor. Although I have to say, if it wasn't windy it wouldn't be so bad.
