And I start to thinking, I am lucky I can see the moon. I am lucky I can smell the fires burning the leaves. I am lucky I am able to walk around outside and enjoy the crisp air. I am lucky I can hear the kids playing outside. I am lucky for so many things.............................
And then I look at the friggin Weather Network and they are calling for snow on Saturday already. Screw you weatherman and your friggin weather....I'm moving to Florida to hang out with Pierce and ride motorcycles!
On that note, my buddy Wandering Coyote over at Retorte has been cooking through some of Kylie Kwong's amazing recipes from her cookbook. When I saw this recipe for Mongolian Beef I knew it would be trotted out on a night where I wanted something quick and easy. Like Wandering, I subbed coleslaw mix for the shredded cabbage which made this a cinch to prepare.
Yeah, it's cold & miserable here...If you're getting snow, we probably will, too! I'm with you about going to Florida to hang with Pierce!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made the beef & that you enjoyed it so much. I'm really liking cooking from that book a lot.
Oh, girl, told you to move over here. We are enjoying a real slow passage to autumn this year. It's so beautiful and sunny. 21-24°C still.
ReplyDeletegreat looking dish.
Wow, you're getting snow already?? Okay, I am not going to complain about the downpour of rain we'll be getting today and tomorrow. Mongolian beef looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBetween the two of you I am definitely going to be buying Kylie's books soon!

ReplyDeleteThat recipe sounds really good. Perfect thing for a cold evening. Sorry to hear that your cold evenings are starting already.
ReplyDeleteTia - ground chicken would taste great!
ReplyDeleteTaste - it's Canada...we should know better than to expect anything different ;) I think Canadians are the ultimate weather optimists - one nice day and we're positive it'll be like that forever.
With the seal of approval from both of you, I MUST try one of her recipes, your choice looks beyond fantastic, so yummy.
ReplyDeleteDonna - you'll love it!
