We all know S's aversion to canned tomatoes, cooked peas or anything that will "gush" into his mouth when bitten into. I thought I was in the clear when I chose a pasta recipe that called for lightly cooked fresh tomatoes - boy was I wrong. He ate everything BUT the tomatoes. I personally thought the blend of capers, garlic, tuna and tomatoes was great! This is the kind of pasta dish that you can throw together with a few pantry staples and have dinner on the table in the time it takes to boil your pasta.
**Note I did not blanch or peel the tomatoes. I just seeded them and then threw them in the pan to saute for a few minutes.**
It looks so yummy... how can he resist those wonderful fresh tomatoes??
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a guy thing. Canned tomatoes not my thing either... better to make a marinara sauce with em.
ReplyDeleteMale solidarity
Palidor - I know.....he's crazy ;)
ReplyDeleteA year on the grill - must be a guy thing! :)
My husband doesn't hate fresh tomatoes, but they need to be peeled or he'll start complaining endlessly.
ReplyDeleteFor me, this is a great and simple combination.
Dajana - I don't think peeling them will even help a bit in our house.
ReplyDeleteOnly 3 more sleeps! How exciting! My four year old asked how long it is until Christmas. Saying 4 months did not mean anything to him. When we said 120 sleeps, he seemed to realize it was a while until Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sticking with me and for your comments. I have come to love camping. The part I hate the most though is doing the dishes (and going outside at night to go to the bathroom!)
I'm in my 30's and still measure by sleeps Joie! Most hated thing about camping...I always pee on my foot - it ruins the whole experience.
ReplyDeleteOne more day for us....Friday we'll hear the dreaded alarma nd then - blessed Saturday and I'm sleeping in.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great meal you posted.
Pierce - I'm not sleeping in Saturday, I'm getting up at 6 a.m. and driving 10 hrs to my best friend :)
ReplyDeleteThe dish looks fantastic. Would S eat the roasted tomato sauce I make? We could give it a try when your here. 6 more sleeps until we see you! Looking forward to seeing you. It seems way to long between visits! Wish A all the best for us.
ReplyDeleteMom - he ate it last year so I'm sure it's not a big deal. Looking forward to seeing you guys too.
ReplyDeletethis looks delicious! Have a great vacantion!
