Last weekend of August already?? :(

I cannot believe it's the end of the summer....it feels like it just started! And I know, many places still benefit from beautiful falls, and I'm holding out hope that we'll have an "Indian Summer". But, a few years ago, mid September it snowed while we were at an amusement park....so you understand my trepidation here with beautiful autumns.

In order to benefit from the beautiful weather today, the neighbor daughter and I headed to Expo Latina - a festival celebrating all things Spanish/Latin. The festival was a dud, but we did come out of it all henna'd up!

I used to regularly get my feet painted with henna when I lived in Vancouver - it amazes me how talented the ladies are that do this. It's all free hand and takes about 10 minutes depending on the level of intricacy.

Neighbor daughter had her hand done. It looks like this for about 30 minutes....and then....
It falls off and you have a beatiful orange hue stained to your skin. This will last approximately 5 - 7 days.

I opted to have my shin done. It's less visible at work.

And the finished product.

  1. Gorgeous! I wish I had a henna lady here. I've heard that if you leave it on longer that the colour gets even darker.
