Last kick at the can

Yep, I know - I've been pretty lazy about posting this month....okay, okay, this week especially. It's the last week of summer and I'm cramming all the good weather stuff I can into my evenings. Fireworks, facials, movies, festivals......it just doesn't leave a lot of time for cooking.

Bear with me - by Saturday I'll have a post up for an amazing roasted cauliflower risotto, my first tomato from my tomato plant and 30 pounds of pickles :) But can I just say, the nerd in me did go sniff the school supplies at Staples....there is something about a new binder and pencils that brings out the inner geek in me!

  3. Did you take carving lessons? That picture is quite funny. Have fun with the pickles! Glad I've got the pickles done and have finished 30 quarts of peaches. Going to be canning plums next week. I have been roasting tomatoes for sauce. The darn plants are still producing lots; Dad just picked me another batch.

  7. The watermelon is great. I love examples of people who have free time on their hands. Enjoy your tomatoes. I'd love to even have green ones - pickled or fried - yum! What will you be pickling?
