Pasta has always intrigued me and once I discovered orzo (rice shaped pasta) I was hooked. This recipe just takes it to a whole other level. Quick to make, make sure to stir a few times so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot. Also, I use all chicken broth for a more bold flavour...think very upscale rice a roni :)
You can find the recipe - here. I'll be back to posting regularly now :) My crappy week is over (but not done) and I'll prevail and kick it in the ass....after a few glasses of wine tonight. Stress culminated in one night of ordered in pizza and one night at our supper club...Indian slow food that night and I forgot the camera to take pictures. I'll remember for the next one!
Glad to have you back! Hope your next week is better:)
ReplyDeleteI love orzo! I have a really nice, fresh orzo salad recipe that uses citrus as a dressing. I bookmarked the recipe for future reference because it looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love orzo too, it's a nice change of pace from rice. Have you tried pastina? It's tiny little balls of pasta, bigger than couscous. I like to use it too.
ReplyDeleteDonna - thank you :) I expect the next few weeks will be equally as crappy....working with men sucks sometimes ;)
ReplyDeleteWandering - ooooooooooo that sounds good...pass it on!
Sara - Pastina here is I think the same thing as Israeli Couscous? If so...then yes...love it.
Do you happen to have a copy of Giada's Kitchen? It's in there under the fregola salad. If you don't have Giada's Kitchen, let me know and I'll copy out the recipe for you.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't have that one. Every other Giada cookbook but that!
ReplyDeleteOK, give me a bit of time and I'll get the recipe to you.
